Speech Language Pathology

Speech language pathologists aim to improve individuals’ communication skill development and provide caregivers the strategies to support communication.

Referrals are often made when a caregiver feels they have limited strategies and resources to help improve a person’s ability to communicate or when an individual demonstrates challenging behaviours believed to be linked to his or her ability to communicate.

Individuals who use speech generating devices or augmentative alternative communication systems without success may also be referred.
